Services
SPEECH THERAPY
Is your child trying to talk, but some of their sounds are missing or just come out wrong? I know how frustrating speech disorders can be for both kids and their family members. Using evidence-based methods, speech therapy will help your child:

-
Produce age-appropriate sounds
-
Communicate so that others understand
-
Pronounce words that are important to them
-
Confidently share what they have to say
-
Improve overall speech clarity

I believe in making speech therapy fun and working toward goals while playing with toys, reading books, and engaging in turn-taking games! Once your child starts to have success with a sound in therapy, I will send home practice activities to help them master it more quickly.
EARLY INTERVENTION & LATE TALKERS
Does your child have thoughts and feelings that they just can’t express? Tantrums and meltdowns can be common when a child’s communication skills are delayed. My play-based therapy will help your child:
-
Use gestures and simple signs to communicate
-
Produce first words or new words
-
Express needs, thoughts, and feelings
-
Combine words into phrases and sentences
I follow your child’s lead in therapy because play is a language-rich activity! Therapy sessions always incorporate caregiver coaching since I believe that parents and caregivers are a young child’s most important language teachers.
Meet Laura
LAURA HANEY, MS, CCC-SLP
I am a mother of three children and an experienced speech-language pathologist. My roles collided when my oldest child started receiving therapy services — so now I know what it’s like to be the therapist and the parent sitting across from the therapist.
That, plus my 13 years of clinical experience, led me to develop a family-centered approach to therapy. I have a lot of empathy for caregivers in the therapeutic process, and I strive to empower them to feel confident helping their child learn to communicate. I opened my private practice because I knew that I wanted to offer a more personal touch to my therapy sessions and specialize in the assessment and treatment of pediatric speech sound disorders.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading books, traveling, and horseback riding. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
I HAVE BEEN A LICENSED SPEECH THERAPIST FOR 20 YEARS AND LOOK FORWARD TO SHARING MY EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE WITH YOUR FAMILY.
